If you guessed it would be a restaurant from the legendary Cipriani family with Venetian roots, you won. Bellini opened earlier this month in The Beatrice at 90 Westminster St.
It's named for the iconic cocktail created by by Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of Harry's Bar in Venice. His great-grandsons brought Bellini to Providence.
This boutique hotel from developer, and former Providence mayor, Joseph R. Paolino Jr. has been in the works for years. The pandemic delayed the opening by more than a year.
When Paolino Properties first bought the property more than seven years ago, Paolino said he'd like it to be a hotel. His mother, Beatrice Tempkin, told him "It would be nice if you named it after your mother."
Temkin died in 2016 and Paolino admitted to being emotional when the ribbon-cutting for the hotel was held earlier this month.

When he originally spoke to Ignazio Cipriani, who is in business with his brother Maggio, he wanted to make the hotel their fourth Mr. Cs. There are locations in New York City's Seaport district, in Beverly Hills and in Miami's Coconut Grove.
Though Paolino did not want to sell the hotel, he began getting anxious about finding a restaurant during the pandemic shutdown.
"I sent a note to Ignazio and asked if we could reboot the talks," he said. Before long, Cipriani agreed to do the Bellini restaurant concept even if its not in their property.
But the Beatrice did have to go along with the Bellini design style.© Kris Craig, The Providence Journal The main dining room of the new Bellini restaurant at the Beatrice Hotel in downtown Providence features woodworking similar to what one would see on a fine boat.
"They have a distinct look for their woodwork, like it's on a ship," he said.
Paolino hired James Thompson of J. Thompson Marine Carpentry in Newport to do the restaurant's woodwork.
Not only will there be the Bellini's restaurant which is open to the public, there will also be a private club on the hotel rooftop. That is still under construction. It will be open to hotel guests and those who sign on as members.
What is a Bellini?

As for its food, Paolino likes what the younger Cipriani generation is doing.
"The food is fantastic," he said. He likes their Lasagna alla Bolognese and their appetizer Polpettine of mini meatballs.© Kris Craig, The Providence Journal A server walks through the dining room of Bellini at the Beatrice hotel in Providence.
The 47-room boutique hotel will be served by Bellini but for now, only dinner service is offered starting at 5 p.m.
